WHY?

I was really really really looking forward to that internship.
I just CANNOT understand why I didn't get it.
The interviewers seemed so pleased with my resume and my responses to their questions.
They treated me as if I was already a member of their team.
I told them I know the job is not going to be just fun and games.

So WHY?
Was there something they didn't like about me?
Were they just being nice because they felt bad that they made me come twice?
(In that case, they're a bunch of lying, deceitful bastards)

Why did they have to tell me this, after making me go through two interviews?

So now,.. do I have to hope I make it to an internship that I don't actually want?
Do I have to start looking for teaching jobs? (They pay WAY better, anyway.)

I'm so angry and confused.
